The Dossier

Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it and what we never do with it. The short version: we keep what we need to run your account, and we never sell it.

1. 01What we collect

   • Your account: your name, email address, company and the kinds of planning you do.
   • The request form: for planners, your name, email, company, website or Instagram, where you plan most often, about how many events you plan a year, the kinds of events you plan, and anything you write in the message. For venues, your name, email, title, the venue's name, website, city and state or country, and your answers. To limit spam, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your network address. We don't store the address itself.
   • Billing: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of your plan, your Stripe customer number and your credits.
   • Your use of the app: your projects, saved venues, field notes, client pages and the people who open them (counted, not identified), shortlist downloads, venues you unlock, venue requests and sign-in records.
   • Venue representatives: your work contact details, which we find on your venue's public pages and in business contact directories or receive from your team; what you send through a questionnaire link (your name, email, answers and any documents); and when the link was opened.
   • Emails you send us.

2. 02Cookies

   We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and no analytics cookies.

   Your browser also keeps a few things on your own device so you don't lose your place: the email you're signing in with, and a venue questionnaire you haven't sent yet. They stay in your browser and aren't sent to anyone.

3. 03How we use it

   To run your account, take payments, verify venue information, answer your questions, and improve The Dossier.

4. 04What we never do

   • Sell your information.
   • Show a venue which planner shared what.
   • Show a venue anything we have on file about it.
   • Share planner-shared documents.

5. 05Who helps us run it

   • Supabase: our database and sign-in.
   • Vercel: hosting.
   • Stripe: payments.
   • Resend: sign-in emails, your welcome email, team invitations, and the notice we get when someone sends the beta request form.
   • Google Workspace: our email.

   Each one handles your information only to provide its service to us.

6. 06How long we keep it, and how to delete it

   We keep your information while your account is open. To delete your account, email shani@thedossier.vip. We delete your account and personal information, except billing records the law requires us to keep.

7. 07Your choices and rights

   You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email shani@thedossier.vip and we answer within 30 days.

8. 08Security

   Venue records are open only to members and our staff, and access rules are enforced in the database itself. Your information is stored with the services listed above.

9. 09Children

   The Dossier is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10. 10Changes and contact

    If we make a material change, we email members before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when this policy last changed.
